PDK vs 6 speed manual transmission - Carrera 2S vs 4S

I know what you’re thinking: why make a category that compares transmissions when it’s the goal of the entire test?  In order to fully pinpoint which system will please customer expectations, we had to remain objective and include this category. For technological advancement and mechanical precision, PDK inevitably wins this section. Just observing the impact its release has made in the Porsche world confirms that the 911 is witnessing a technical revolution. Demand for this market is higher than Porsche’s expected 70%. They should have expected 90%!  PDK is the future; it brings something new to the table and its high level of technology cannot be compared to the traditional manual gearbox. PDK improves performance and offers a more comfortable and intuitive operation, especially for everyday driving. Some would argue that the conventional manual gearbox is bound to dissapear in the near future.

Hello, and welcome to Fla6mag.com!

by admin on 2 January 2009 , under Edito

You’ve been dreaming about this moment for a long time, and it’s finally here! This website is the link required to bridge the gap between magazine readers and web surfers.  Our goal with this website is too further satisfy our readers while staying up to date with today’s fast paced world.

Flat six is the oldest magazine in Europe to be exclusively dedicated to Porsche. First launched in November 1990, the magazine has been released on the first of every month ever since while maintaining a constant growth.  The magazine includes news about Porsche products through various road tests, comparison tests and discussions. It also contains a buyer’s guide, road tests of classic models, technical advice, a classified ad section and much more.

Today Porsche enthusiasts have a total of 148 pages at their disposal through the magazine. The expansion towards the World Wide Web had to happen someday; so here we are.  As a first version, you well have at your disposal Porsche vehicles for sale (already more than 300 for sale!), an online store that sells past issues accompanied with the index of each, as well as an incoming blog that will incorporate Porsche news in a fresh multimedia environment.

Of course we are still working on the finishing touches, and you may encounter a few imperfections, but as we did when we launched issue number one (which was called Carrera Magazine at the time), we told ourselves that we had to throw ourselves in the water with this passion that has been in us for the last 18 years.

Do not hesitate to give us your feedback about the website. Every comment is appreciated. This is just the beginning!
